SUBJECT
Sea and water paintings
Water painted as a plane, without a wave line and without a coast.
Mist over a lake, a band of turquoise across a line of trees, spray as texture. These works sit closer to the colour field than to the lake landscape. Availability on request.
Water without waves
The movement comes from the texture, not from the drawing.
A painted wave looks like a wave. A moving surface looks like water.

Why turquoise appears so rarely
A band of turquoise only works against a matt ground.
Too much turquoise tips into the decorative. As a narrow band against grey-green it carries the whole painting.
Formats
Landscape and portrait, in medium sizes.
Water paintings need less surface than mountain paintings, because they tell no story about height.
Which room suits it
Bathrooms, spa areas, practices.
In rooms with tiles and glass a water painting takes up the coolness and still stays quiet.
Availability
On request.
