Which picture size fits my wall?
Two thirds to three quarters of the wall or furniture width.
On a wall of three metres that comes to 180 to 220 cm of picture width, either as one large format or as a group of two or three works
How high does a picture hang?
Centre of the picture 145 to 150 cm above the floor.
That is eye level standing. Above a sofa or sideboard, keep 20 to 30 cm clear of the furniture edge
Caring for oil paintings
Dust dry with a soft brush. No water.
Avoid direct sun and dry heating air. Touch gilded areas only with the brush and do not rub them with a cloth
What is gold leaf painting?
The metal lies under the paint, not on top of it.
Real gold leaf is laid by hand in wafer-thin sheets onto the support and then painted over in oil. Where the paint is thin it shines through, so the picture changes with the light in the room
Original, print or reproduction?
An original is a unique piece, a print is a mechanical copy.
The original carries the brush mark and the thickness of the material, a print is usually completely flat. Every work on this site is an original
Buy art in Switzerland
Buying straight from the studio removes the gallery mark-up
Look for an invoice with the work details: title, technique, format and year
Delivery and hanging are possible in the Zurich region and Central Switzerland
