GUIDE

Buying art in Switzerland

Buying direct from the artist removes the gallery mark-up, but the invoice then needs the full details of the work.

Buying at the studio removes the intermediate step. That lowers the price and shifts the burden of care onto the invoice, because no gallery certificate comes with it.

Buying art in Switzerland – overview as a diagram

The key points from this guide at a glance.

What belongs on the invoice

Title, technique, format, year, signature and the note that it is a one-off.

These details are later the basis for insurance and resale.

Gallery or studio

At the studio the gallery mark-up falls away.

A gallery selects and introduces. Anyone who already knows the work does not need that service.

Delivery and hanging

In the Zurich region and Central Switzerland I handle both.

Outside that region by freight forwarder, terms on request.

Seeing it in person

The studio in Schindellegi can be visited.

A gilded painting cannot be judged on a screen, because the effect depends on the light. Appointments through the contact page.

Commissions

I do accept commissions.

Write to me with the format, the tone and the room you have in mind.

In short

Direct from the studio, a complete invoice, delivery in the region.

22 works are currently available, prices from CHF 300.
